Tip - 610 - Radio Itatiaia

Post by simbeav » 11 Feb 2020 23:47

Looking at the power, this may not be DX for some, but I have never had an ID before, although I may have heard it some time back with a football match.

Anyway some good IDs and jingles at 23:00 on 11/02 on 610.

I didn't start recording until almost midnight. Nothing noted anyway. Vague audio from something after 02:00. Too weak to even know the language.

Definitely DX in my book Simon! I check for the South Americans all the time. I often notice lots of weak signals from the south west being hammered by adjacent Spanish channels. 610 fairly clear here though. i was telling John by email that i managed Uruguay on 770 last night which is something of a miracle at my location because of 774 Enniskillen. I went to bed chuffed to bits.

Nice one Paul.

Absolutely it is DX, Simon! I checked my recording again after seeing all the Latins which have been logged overnight. I am sure I am hearing many of them, but fade-in/out times do not always coincide. There was a Brazilian on 1380, probably Radio Itai with it's ranting religious speaker, but no IDs and way too weak.

770 had TTHREE Latins, probably Rumbos and Rebelde were there. Not sure who the third Latin was. 780 820 and 870 had Latins, which is unusual here. Little time to check further now before I wipe the drive to accommodate the next batch of files.

Good DX!

I'm really jealous Paul. Never had Uruguay, I'll keep trying, though !

The early part of the night there were quite a few Brazilians floating around, but getting a good ID is the difficult part for me. I think that you have the right idea matching the online streams.
