RTE Radio1 on FM (regional ads/opt outs?)

Post by Tim Bucknall »

i'm doing some carrier monitoring and because of my location Ireland tends to be present at low levels no matter where i point.
so i need to rule out some kind of split px round 6am on RTE Radio 1 before i can claim anything exotic

best wishes

I've never heard any regional opt outs on RTE1 Tim.

RTE Radio 1 has program called "RTE Gold on RTE Radio" from 03:00 t0 05:30 and "Rising Time" from 05:30 to 07:00.
Is this the program you are hearing?

thank you both
yes that will be the programming
i didn't think there were opt outs/regional advertising but i just needed to rule it out and make sure i wasn't getting fooled

for example, if i see a trace on 88.5 that doesn't match 89.1, 88.2 & 87.8 i can be pretty safe in the knowledge its not RTE and its worth investigating

I've been monitoring low level carriers from the continent that would never produce usable audio under normal conditions

I've added the ones i've definitely confirmed and which are regular to the bandscan list here

well over 800km as you can see

its mostly classical stations on big mountains!
