Thanks for sharing, I'm in the market for a UHF SDR that picks up where airspy stops and also a handheld scanner

I have a crazy dream of logging those dutch UHF pirates on tropo from axe edge if not from home.
Dual watch would be nice

They're claiming the first sdr scanner but I used to own the alinco DJ x11. Great rf performance but it had that weird power issue

Whistler scanners have 10.7 if out available on back panel, I wondered if anyone had tried feeding them into SDR

Unless recording and playback refers to I/q playback I can't actually see any functions in the brochure that are different from the new UBC 3500xlt or that would require or benefit from sdr architecture. No bandscope for instance.

Maybe it's like the alinco and the sdr application needs a computer and has no impact on how the scanner works when used as a scanner. Unidens are certainly more reliable than alincos but the current brochure doesn't have enough to tempt me

its finally out, some of the initial claims in the advance publicity came from an idiot in marketing and were misleading and have been removed now according to an agent for instance "dc to daylight sdr"

i like the sound of the search function that records a bit of audio with a time stamp as well as auto storing the freq
when this thread started i could still go mobile , not sure i can justify this in my new car-less state unless i start taking the train to london more often

i'm going through threads on this rx, their representative seems to be studiosly avoiding the questions about i/q out .
and the current publicity is no longer mentioning I/Q out or showing screen shorts of HDSDR or SDR sharp

i'm pretty sure the i/q out stuff is not in the finished unit
i've been taken in by this before - the early publicity for unit advertises some sdr functionality but its quietly dropped by the time it gets to market

the original publicity for the rdr pocket advertised that you could record and play back i/q files, but by the time it came out you could only record 16khz of i/q and couldn't play it back properly

will post if i get a definite answer
