Setting up RDS Spy for auto-recording data. How?

I have been experimenting with RDS Spy and trying to get it to automatically record a file, catching all PI code changes and with the weakest signals. I used to be able to do this but I cannot get it to work today. No matter what boxes and buttons I press, I can only get the first PI code recorded, ...

Re: Was that Polish tropo just now?

A quick Google search reveals numerous reports and papers covering the subject of frequency-selective ducting. It is real. Or, as they say these days, it is a thing!

Thank you Franco.

I will be looking for more of these out-of-band transmitters in future.

Re: Holbeach Log: 2020-05-29 (Es: Widespread!)

Thank you very much Franco and PFM. There were three of these signals below the FM band. The two others, which I was going to mention, were on 87.0 and 87.4. 87.0 looked like it would have RDS'd, but there weren't really any clues. I should have noted their formats. Appreciate the help, as always. G...

Re: Was that Polish tropo just now?

Indeed David. There are examples of tropospheric ducting much further than this! But a sea path is usually necessary. Who was the DXer in North Devon who had the Azores on tropo last year? That was around 2200 km if I recall correctly. But ducting can channel all kind of interesting and high powered...

Re: 29 May 2020 - "Tomato Soup"

PFM- you are a mine of information. Thank you for this very interesting information. From a radio perspective, I read that this signal 'gets out'. (If it didn't I wouldn't have heard it. ;) ) But it's still a great and very unusual catch. I think only sporadic E can do this. I was very lucky to see ...

Re: Was that Polish tropo just now?

Thanks P-FM. Yes, got to be Es from this tx. But I have known weirder than this regarding Polish tropo - and further. My tropo distance record sits with Suwalki, received during a German tropo on 22-09-98. I have also had tropo from a 1Kw Polish station on 90.6, PR 24 from Świeradów-Zdrój. That came...

Re: Was that Polish tropo just now?

After some research, and thanks to Jim in Bournemouth, this is confirmed as Es. The band had Polish Es just prior to this in the UK. Very weird though.

Polish Tropo?

I just switched on the radio to find PR 2 from Giżycko on 92.6 (Poland). The signal was steady for several minutes and faded only gradually. There was full RDS. I am left asking myself if this was actually tropo or Es. No other obvious tropo or Es were on the band. I've got to assume it was Es, but ...

Re: 29 May 2020 - "Tomato Soup"

It's local midnight and Spain is wiping out UK stations right across the band. It's been 20 years or so since I have witnessed around the clock Es, but this time the intensity of it all is truly bewildering. This has probably been the most intense period of Es I have known. It began with Italy, alre...

Re: strong tropo down the beach now

I had no idea about this. The entire FM band has been solid with strong E skip all day. Now it's all fading away I can hear northern Germany and Denmark quite well. I just posted a main alert, so hopefully this will track inland as the evening progresses.

Good DX!

Tropo > Northern Germany & Denmark

What do we need after an entire day of strong and varied Es? Tropo! Quite decent tropo too. Several transmitters from northern Germany and Denmark reaching RDS.

Good DX!

Madness! Soup! UK radio obliterated and often! Mega signals! More soup! Non-stop DX! Easier to list the European countries I didn't receive, rather than those I did.
