Re: 1020 - Radio Trinchera

A badly splattered frequency but I hear something there. KDKA appears more frequently. I guess Trinchera is the one moving slightly between .9997-.0002. MW has been largely disappointing in the last week. Some signs of the Prairies again this morning but difficult to catch anything for long. Asia is...

Conditions improving again

Nice signals this morning after 03:00 from 1280 WWTC Minneapolis MN, 1390 WRIG Schofield WI and 1420 WOC Davenport IA. Country music heard on the correct offset for CFRY and traces of other Prairie stations around, possible CJCA 930 with talk at 06:17 and classical music 950 at 07:10. 1470 Radio For...

Re: 1470 Spanish ID

OK Simon. Thanks for checking. It was there all morning but nothing obvious. I'm not 100% sure about that possible ID I heard. One for the bin.

Re: 1470 Spanish ID

Just noticed that the disco beat heard here repeats regularly. Also heard at 01:19 and 01:33. Sounds like "Radio Piroto" / "Radio Piloto" at 03:12:29.

WWNN is close by on 1469.9956.

Chinese 819

One from yesterday evening.

https://app.box.com/s/63topzsh2fgvesmfg8qebd1c5jxtxqle

A Chinese ID on 819, probably Shanxi RGD but I don't know if I can hear a reference to Shanxi. Not sure what else this could be.

Thanks for any help.

1470 Spanish ID

https://app.box.com/s/yzs8azev4e2cgbka7diszyxad1snd178

Heard at 01:57:58 on 1469.9941.

Unless I am mistaken, it sounds like the call ends in a W and possibly there are FM frequencies given. Really not sure.

Thanks if anybody can throw any light on this.

Re: TIP - 1470 - WSAN

Alas I deleted everything make way for the MS files, which of course never materialised in the quantity I was hoping for. :( Thanks anyway.

Back to normal today after a weekend away ... in which my newly constructed beverage resistor broke down, so not doing so well these last few days.

The meteor pings before the AuEs were strong and frequent. Every few seconds. Definitely a shower to watch next year. Stick it in your diary!

Re: TIP - 1470 - WSAN

Nice one Simon. Checking 1470 this morning has quite a lot of brief fade-ins. I've been following two carriers in particular, 9961 and 9986-ABC News on the hour. There was also a music station on 9961. There were other carriers with occasional very weak audio. WLAM was sat above centre as always on ...

Re: TIP - 1470 - WSAN

Interesting conditions Simon. I didn't record as I expected reception to be poor and decided to record FM for the MS shower. (That was a disaster as you may have read.) Looks like the indices bumped up overnight but not enough to destroy the band completely. Same with Asia this evening. Some unexpec...

Re: Alpha Monocerotids tonight

I wish so much that I had got this recorded. I've been having a bad time of software updates with the FDM-S2. It only works for me with much older software. v1.47 or earlier. I set my antenna vertical to the north-east in order to catch Scandinavian locals. There were lots in the few files which rec...

Re: Alpha Monocerotids tonight

!!! WOW !!! What an eventful shower! This was reminiscent of the Leonids peak in 1998 and like E skip! Hang on ... were they Es? Practically non-stop so could have been Auoral Es. Pity only a handful of recordings came out. When I checked at 03:00 there were strong burts every few seconds.

DX Tip: 750 CKJH Melfort SK

The band was still open to the Prairies but much earlier than yesterday. Conditions took a tumble around the middle of the morning and had badly deteriorated by sunrise. Even so, some Prairie stations managed to get through around 01:00 - 03:00 here. 920 CFRY and 930 CJCA were there weakly before mi...
