I got the SDRplay_ExtIO.dll from my SDR#1361 folder. It is the SDRSharp.USRP.dll by Christophe Marchand that enables the MSi.SDR (and SDRplay) to work in SDR#17xx.

Peter
I'd forgotten about that. I must make a permanent note somewhere so I remember for if I have to re-install it.

Re: MSi.SDR working in SDRsharp 17xx with RDS Spy

Hi Peter, Nice to see an example of the MSi SDR actually working on FM - I'm thinking of upgrading my RTL-SDRs that are used for background scanning - but a new PC will come first. It must be pointed out that you are not using the official SDRPlay EXTio dll, but a third party version that works arou...

Beni Mellal & régions, Khourib according to the list on the homepage http://www.snrt.ma/radio_frequences.php ... id_radio=2
Thanks for finding that out. It is about 100 km south of Casablanca.

Unlisted Moroccan/Western Sahara station on 92.9

Does anyone know where the SNRT International station on 92.9 MHz is located? I received this at 16:10 - 16:16 UTC on 26th July 2019. PI: 1202 PS: SN??-I?? [SNRT-Int). At the same time I received SNRT-Int from the Rabat (200 deg), Medradio from Casablanca (210 deg), Radio Mars from Frideq (198 deg),...

Re: PI code in SDR# and not RDSspy

It happens to me from time to time. The RDS decoder needs a finite time to synchronise and the time it takes to do so depends on where in the data cycle it first grabs the signal. More than once when I move to a new frequency the RDS data appears instantly on SDR#, but not on RDSSpy. But most of the...

Re: Comet Neowise Tonight!

That's quite a spectacular photo. I remember seeing the Halley-Bop comet thru binoculars a few years ago. A friend of mine saw Neowise at the end of last week and posted a nice photo, but right now it is overcast. Maybe late tomorrow evening there will be break in the cloud cover.

Re: Crete reception 12th July?

Hi Jim, I've just downloaded a list of all stations from FMScan. Searching for 92,1 FM there are three Greek stations listed on 92.1 with have a PS that includes "92,1 FM", two them are SKAI FM from Crete, but one is Galaxias FM on mainland Greece. However the PS for this one is listed as GALAXIAS F...

Re: FM-DX E-skip 22 July 2020

I had a nice opening from around 16:45 to 17:45 UTC which mas mainly Italian, but extended to Greece. The opening extended to the top of the band briefly, around 17:05-17:10. I've a few recordings to go through, but doubtif there is anything unusual on them.

Possible double hop to Middle East alert

I've not had anything in SE England yet, but the FMList SpE predictor is showingto look for DX from Bulgaria/SRB. It also shows a DXer in Serbia is receiving from Israel/LBN. That suggests that that we should be alert to possibility that a double hop path to the middle east could develop. I'm record...

Re: Crete reception 12th July?

Exciting - but what time was this? - as I've a load of logs from 1743 - 2140 BST yet to check. Thanks PS your daughter's antics remind of a story in Practica lTelevision from ages ago. The proprietor of a radio/tv shop found his young son had happily plugged all the PP3 batteries had in stock into e...

Re: 16 June 2020 - double hop full log

Having said about becoming active on OIRT again, I think it's highly unlikely that this will happen now. I have too much to do really and I am not sure I can be bothered to sort out another simple tower and feed all the coax through, etc. There is a limit to how much time one can/should devote to a...

Re: 16 June 2020 - double hop full log

One thing this has all made me realise is that I would like to focus more on the OIRT range for the remaining days of this season. This season it feels as if I have had far more openings on the OIRT band than previously. In 2019 I had 9 openings from 25/04/2019 to 22/06/2019 and then a gap until 22...

Hi Peter - It does look a bit like that doesn't it.

Hi Chris - not 77.5, but 72.50 MHz

Video puzzle - 72.5 MHz

This is a nice puzzle, maybe someone with image manipulation software can straighten up the attached image. At 11:15-11:16 on 11 July 2020 at the end of an Es opening to BLR/UKR I spotted what looked like a video signal on the I/Q recording. The attached image is what appeared on the TV plug-in on S...

Re: 16 June 2020 - double hop full log

Amazing stuff Dave! Hi John, There was more than one 'amazing thing' about it. 1. I started recording at 06:38 local time- 10 minutes later and I would have missed it. 2. I was trying to set the PC up to automatically change frequencies in time with change of recording files - and missed the change...

16 June 2020 - double hop full log

With some quiet time I've been able to re-visit the I/Q files from the OIRT band for the 16 June. I was pleasantly surprised to find a few more Russian stations from the Kuban region around 3000 km away. These were weak signals and included three at 500 watts power. Fortunately at around 0653 they g...
